Hallowmas 2011

A word from Mr. Jack Terricloth:

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

Myths and legends die hard in America. but that doesn't mean that if we don't push them they'll last forever. Like a pumpkin patch, myths need to be tended: in lean times, fight; in flush times, grow. Hallowmas is a three day cycle of sacrifice, travel and joy. the more you talk about it the stronger it gets, the more you work on it, the more it means, the more it means, the more we'll have to give to each other next season, and the next - it all counts. It's all important.

We love adventure for the extra dimension it provides, the proof of near-infinite possibility that erases the narrow confines of most people's reality. Weird heroes and mold-breaking champions exist as living proof to those who need it that the tyranny of 'the rat race' is not yet final. Their symbol is a sop who got nailed to a tree, ours is a tree that flowers and returns to us every year encouraging us to re invent, create and shine.

There is a huge body of evidence to support this. Let's demonstrate it.

Friday, October 28th
we celebrate the feast of Great Friday.
The celebration will be held at
Irving Plaza
17 Irving Place, NYC.

Please reserve your place in this celebration in advance as slots are limited.

It is Our Pumpkin's darkest hour, the seed does not know if it will sprout, the bud if it will bloom. If he is forsaken, if he is forsaken by you!

Observing this, a strict dress code of gray, black and white will be observed! This includes clothes, hair and skin! All color should be covered. Dress in the colors of twilight to show your grief and faith. If you have difficulty, we'll help you. Indiscriminately. Randomly. It's better if you do it on your own. This lovely young lady can help.

The notion that us and the police were put on this earth to do extremely different things and never to mingle professionally with each other, it's ah- one of those truths we call self evident. So you know what? The next day let's get out of town. Samhain adherents from up New England way have been trying to claim our festival for a while now so this year let's give them a chance.

Saturday, October 29th
For the Annunciation of St. Sally, we head up to
The Met
1005 Main St, Pawtucket, RI
to preach and scream and burn.

Secure your reservation.
And we encourage you to do so quickly. Pawtucket's Pumpkin Patch can hold only those most sincere.

At this event, we encourage you to work with those others you find to be most sincere to bring tricks. Plenty of tricks. Large scale tricks. New England, prove yourself to the pilgrims! Pilgrims, show New England how sincere you can be! Tell us what you're planning and we'll help it happen if we can. Let's see what you got in your pinata!

Friends, I don't need to remind you that this Hallowmas of ours, it's a spiritual journey. so as we think, as we consider, as we reflect on the past year and the year to come.

October 30th
Mischief Night
Inferno encourages you
to indulge in an afternoon of
quiet contemplation in a bucolic setting.
Think about about what you've accomplished, think about what you'll do.

And finally, brothers and sisters, travelers and well wishers, ex-lovers and voyeuristic creeps - even on a monday

Halloween is Halloween
and we will burst upon The City of Brotherly Love with as much color as we soaked Manhattan in gray.

At
Union Transfer
at 1026 Spring Garden St.
Philadelphia, PA
you will arrive over the rainbow in technicolor and glitter and your harvest best to greet the only god who ever spoke to your beautiful innocent soul.

This is it kids.
Hallowmas.
Come down to the pumpkin patch,
Make the pilgrimage.
Rise him up.
