Once a year th band plays a show this expensive and they usually shell out a ridiculous amount of money for props, production, costumes, and renting the place. It's WAY more expensive to rent out Brooklyn Masonic Temple then any other venue they played before. Christ, this is where Neurosis did their two east coast shows. It's simple economics. It's not like the band is charging that amount in order to rake in the dough hand over fist. They're charging it cover expenses and (hopefully) make a little bit of money. Jesus christ you guys bitch alot.
