there's the difference between you and me right there. If it was a Met game, I probably did watch it. |
Why? From all that i can gather from my friends who actually like baseball the mets are terrible. |
Yes, they certainly are, but as the franchise has been saying since they came to town in '62:
you gotta believe.
EDIT Back on topic: I see where Jake is coming from, Having worked at the same place with him this summer. I find that this type of attitude never changes. I've been dealing with it since like, 7th Grade.
I'm not as connected to the Punk lifestyle as Jake is. I'm not as "experienced" so to say, as he is, so the "Punks growing older" thing I cant empathize with yet. I mean down get me wrong, It's with me for life, and I've never made a conscious effort to be a "Punk", it just naturally happened. I've just always had certain goals for myself that could be considered "normal" (Masters degree, Career etc.). and I've always felt a drive to work especially hard to try and achieve them. because of this, I've always felt that I've been grounded in reality. and as much as I abhor the "dude" mentality, I feel I have come to learn to ignore it, or even counteract it with absurdism when it becomes overbearing (thats just my nature I guess) because it is something that will never go away, no matter how much I try and co-opt it.
-------------- this is a sermon for the vermin, a song to draw blood. A finger in the dam trying to hold back the flood, We are down, but we're still not out, we struggle with faith in the face of doubt.
