I kinda started teaching myself drums, but it hasn't been going so well. definitely not up to D.H. Peligro status.

I'm really not looking for talent, more of a sense of humor and manic energy. I've never been in a band before, if it's a learning experience for everybody that might be even more fun. I'm pretty sure there's a rehearsal space in my neighborhood that has rooms with drum kits, so if you wanted to give it a shot, I'd really love to have you in this.
I would really rather have this be a group of chicks I know and like, goofing around and drinking beer, rather than go on CraigsList or something and end up with a boatload of crazies, flakes, and primadonnas. Also, I feel like part of the reason punk can be so male dominated is because a lot of us (girls in general, I mean) worry so much about being "good enough," whereas boys are often much more impulsive and willing to learn (or fuck up) as they go along.

The other day, when I thought about actually getting this going, I assumed everyone would laugh in my face, but instead everyone I talk to seems to think it's as great of an idea as I do. It's not a feeling I'm accustomed to, but I'm really psyched!

So wait you can't respect someone trying? I work with girls who could never do what i can do phisically (Or academically but i'm very clever) but so long as they're breathing as hard as i am at the end of something demanding i don't care how far they are behind me, I'm happy to call them my peers.

I'm basically just propelling this whole idea forward as fast and hard as I can without stopping so I don't lose momentum (that's what she said!), and the Facebook band page already has people I don't know/share no mutual friends with, who are posting that they can't wait to see us play.
