We need an NYC show this summer, we got gipped last year. I had my heart set on seeing them one more time in Toronto before several months of Inferno-less-ness, but I did the math and I just can't afford the trip.
I think part of what drew me into this little subculture is that when I was first getting into the band, there was always a show coming up. I usually couldn't turn a page on my calendar without an Inferno show being pencilled in, and I had no reason not to go. I became an Infernite without noticing or trying. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the band's hometown popularity is waning due to their extended absences.
Now that the band only graces NYC with their presence for Hallowmas and one other date, I wonder how many potential fans aren't getting drawn in the same way. Halloween is the type of night when there's always a million things to do- unless you're definitely already into Inferno, why would you go? Your friends are probably having parties, or you've been invited to a club night, or you're going to see a band play the entirety of "Ziggy Stardust" in costume. I'd bet that's also why the Music Hall of Williamsburg show didn't sell out when it should have- older fans are losing interest due to lack of live events, and newer fans just aren't replacing them.
But yeah, in summary, I want to see this band live more often without having to hitch rides beyond the reaches of the MTA.
