Go with the micro-brews. Anything from Stone Breweries, my personal favorite is Stone IPA.

If I want to get fucked up with class, Arrogant Bastard Ale.  Otherwise, I go with Guiness Extra Stout or McSorley's Black and Tan.

Did any of you know (or care) that a pint of Guiness has more vitamin C than an Orange? Or that if you drank 4 pints and ate a tin of tuna you would get enough protine and stuff and have a better diet (Vitamin and mineral wise) than 40% of americans

I'm not much of a beer drinker, but while in Germany I took the oppurtuniy to try as many kinds as I could. My favorite by far was Koelsch. Favorite brand was Dom and then Gaffel.

The Belgian beer Juplier is absolutely disgusting.

Great Divide's Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout ties with Dogfish Head's World Wide Stout are probably my favorite overall.

St. Benarardus' Abt 12 and Gouden Carolus' Grand Cru are my favorite Belgian ales, and probably both in my top five overall.

blue moon, hoegaarden, hacker pschorr, generally any weisse beer... i heart weisse beers ^.^

the blueberry ale that blue point brewing makes is great if you're in the mood for something fruity, and brooklyn brewery can do no wrong (especially in the fall--post road pumpkin ale is amazing).

when it comes to cheap beer, it's all about yuengling or ballantine.

well, it's cheap-ish.  not quite as cheap as nady or beast, but it's no more expensive than coors light or bud.
